PEARL V. BRUBAKER, 99, formerly of Huntington, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Monday, January 7, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Estero, Florida.

Pearl was born August 9, 1913 in Keensburg, Illinois, to James and Mary (Hedge) Lovellette. She married Eugene Listenberger on August 25, 1934, in Decatur, Indiana. They shared 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death August 1974. Pearl later married David Brubaker in December of 1975 in Huntington, Indiana, he preceded her in death in 2000.
Pearl loved being a housewife and homemaker for her husband and her children. She was very talented in interior design and decorating and had a love for growing flowers. She was an Avon lady for 15 years. Pearl was involved in the Huntington County Master Gardener Organization. She attended the Primitive Baptist Church in Huntington and the Waynedale United Methodist Church in Waynedale, Indiana.
Pearl is survived by her one son-Roger (Mary) Listenberger of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; one daughter-Gelaine (Steven W.) Smock of Estero, Florida; one sister-Mary Ellen Martin of Decatur; a stepdaughter-Maxine Wiley of Huntington; stepdaughter-in-law Lela Sale of Huntington; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her parents, two brothers-Harry Lovellette and James Lovellette, two sisters-Florence Whittenbarger and Opal Peterson and a stepson-Robert Sale preceded her in death.
