DONNA M. MITCHELL, 89DONNA M. MITCHELL, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Kingston Residence. She was born November 11, 1922 in Oakland County, Michigan to the late Howard and Florence (Gillespie) Tincknell. Prior to full time teaching, she substitute taught. Then she worked for 18 years as a teacher at Indian Village School, retiring in 1983. She received her master’s degree from St. Francis College. Mrs. Mitchell was a 60+ year member of Waynedale United Methodist Church and the U. M. W. She was also a 60+ year member of Proto Homemakers Extension Club and the Eastern Star. She was also involved as a member of Elmhurst Garden Club, American Association of University Women and a charter member volunteer at the Botanical Conservatory.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kingston Residence and Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home for their loving care.

Surviving are her children, Rev. Dr. James S. (Marilyn) Mitchell, Jr. of Brunswick, Ohio, Margaret (Fred,III) Schimmel and Gordon “Gordy” (Christy) Mitchell, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Kathryn Howard of Ypsilanti, Michigan; brothers, Glenn Tincknell of Florida and Leslie Tincknell of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Amy (Rich), Erin, Andy (Katie), Casey (Carissa), and Emily (David); and great grandchildren, Noah, Naomi, Cyrus, Riley, Elyse, Gracelyn, Dillon, and Caden.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell, Sr. and brother, Robert Tincknell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation from 9:00 AM until the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
