SAYAKA GANZ TO EXHIBIT HER WORK

Local artist Sayaka Ganz, who is known for taking common plastic items and turning them into works of art, will exhibit her work at Huntington University from October 13 to November 12 in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery.

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Ganz has been living and working in Indiana for the past 15 years. She currently teaches design and drawing at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

In her sculptures, she uses post-consumer plastic objects to depict animals in motion with rich colors and energy. Her newest sculpture “Ambush” has been permanently installed at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

The Wilson Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before and after all Merillat Centre performances and by appointment. The gallery is free and open to the public.
