LEND SUPPORT FOR FALLEN PARISHIONER AND HER FAMILY

Saint Aloysius Catholic Church is hosting a benefit day to raise funds and support for parishioner Shelby Gruss and her family. The Shelby Gruss Benefit is set to take place on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 12 a.m. at the parish’s activity center, located on State Road 1, just south of I-469.

Gruss, a senior at Bishop Luers High School, athlete, student ambassador and Saint Aloysius alumna, was injured earlier this year in a snowboarding accident, leaving her partially paralyzed. While other initiatives to help the Gruss family have taken place, members of the Saint Aloysius community have come together in an effort to lend a supporting hand to their fellow parishioners. All donations from the Shelby Gruss Benefit will go toward helping the Gruss family cover the cost of medical and necessary renovation expenses.

Bracelets can be purchased at the event, $5 for adults and $2 for children, though other donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated. The afternoon will kick-off with a corn hole contest and children’s’ games, followed by a silent auction, and spaghetti dinner provided by CASA D’Angelo and Hall’s Takes the Cake. The night will conclude with entertainment from Bishop Luers’ show choir and a live band.
