FINDING THOSE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES JUST GOT EASIER
Girl Scout Cookies have arrived by the truckload! And beginning on January 13, girls and their troop leaders were picking them up by the hundreds in preparation for the annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale, which started on Friday, January 13.
To make sure that everyone gets the Girl Scout Cookies they wait all year for, Girl Scouts are hosting Cookie Booths in business locations across the Waynedale area every weekend between now and the program’s close on March 9, 2010.
The public can find a Girl Scout Booth by visiting or shopping the “Cookie Booth Locator” on their website, www.gsnim.org. Visitors simply click on the “It’s Cookie Time” link on the home page, then click on “Search for Cookie Sale locations nearest you” and then enter your zip code. Cookie Booth locations and sale dates and times are detailed, plus an additional click offers a map with directions right to the Cookie Booth of your choice.
Each box of cookies is only $3.50, and every penny after paying the commercial baker remains in Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michigan to benefit Girl Scouts in the local community. The Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls build important leadership skills. Through cookie activities, girls practice life skills such as goal setting, money management and teamwork-and they have fun! These skills add up and ultimately girls learn to be leaders in their own lives and communities.
From January 15-March 9 Girl Scouts will be selling favorites like Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades and Caramel deLites. Also, this is the last year for Daisy-Go-Rounds, a reduced-fat cinnamon cookie, so you’ll want to stock up!
