ST. JOE CONTINUES HOSPITAL UPDATES
St. Joseph Hospital will complete renovations of its intensive care unit so patients who oftentimes have longer hospital stays can recover in technologically advanced rooms with enhanced comfort and privacy.
The $750,000 investment includes new headwall systems, state-of-the-art monitoring systems, flooring, lighting, streamlined workstations, and a secured medication room to provide convenient access in a close proximity.
“The new ICU rivals others in the region and it looks fantastic too,” said Kirk Ray, CEO, St. Joseph Hospital. “This investment is yet another example of the ongoing commitment to people living in and near the heart of the city.”
As one of several recent renovations including the expanded burn and wound center and the new medical office building, the ICU refresh demonstrates how St. Joe continues to advance.
“We have compassionate physicians and a seasoned nursing staff caring for our most critically ill patients, so it’s rewarding to be in a position to update their space with the latest technology and conveniences,” said Ray.
St. Joe, the city’s first hospital, is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year.
