HARRY W. “BUD” KOCH, 79
HARRY W. “BUD” KOCH, 79, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, August 3, 2009, at Covington Manor, Fort Wayne. He was born on January 9, 1930, in Fort Wayne. He served in the Marines, the Navy, and with the Indiana State Police for nine years. He was with the Fort Wayne Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1984 as a Lieutenant. While serving with the F.W.P.D., he taught at the Police Academy and was a polygraph examiner. After retiring from the police department, he went on to teach at Fort Wayne Community Schools from 1984 to 2002. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and a life member of F.O.P.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Nancy L. Koch of Fort Wayne; children, David A. (Vicky) Koch of Fort Wayne, James E. (Karen) Koch of Indianapolis, Martha J. “Marti” (Mark) Heath of Somerset, Kentucky, and Daniel E. (Kim) Koch of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; brother, William (Ruth) Koch of Ocala, Florida; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Friday, August 7 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
