JERAL K. RICHERSON, 63
JERAL K. RICHERSON, 63, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at the VA Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1946, in Fort Wayne. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was a sharp shooter, served two tours in Vietnam, and received the following awards: Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Badge (Rifle M-1), and Expert Badge (M-14).
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1421 and AMVets Post 33; and a member of American Legion Post 241.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Sue Richerson of Fort Wayne; sisters, Betty Lovey, Darlene Adams and Donna Richerson, all of Fort Wayne; brothers, Jerry Richerson and Juno Richerson, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Frank Campbell and Jessica Ferguson; and great-granddaughter, Haley Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Les Richerson; and stepson, Frank Housin.
Funeral service was Tuesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
