INFORMATION:
The Schlacht (literally “slaughter”) Festival, celebrating the first slaughter of the fattened boars in the spring, also symbolizes the end of the winter and the renewing promise of spring. First held by the Männerchor in 1929, this Fort Wayne version of Schlachtfest features our own special recipe bratwurst, homemade saurkraut, and all the features of a fine German meal prepared by the women of the Damenchor.
The dinner is followed by a performance of the Männerchor/Damenchor and music by the Haus Musikanten for your dancing and singing pleasure.
