OTTIS JOHNSON, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital. Born July 9, 1926, in Tazewell, Tenn., he was a member of Avalon Missionary Church. He was a glazer at City Glass. He loved reading and working with his hands. “He was a Godly man, who loved his family, his Lord and his church. He was willing to serve wherever and whenever he could.” Surviving are his wife, Marie Johnson of Fort Wayne; daughters, Phyllis (Dennis) Brubaker of Fort Wayne and Rebecca (Mark) Kendall of Mooresville; son, Larry (Jennifer) Johnson of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Beltz, Lindsey (Shawn) Baker, Amy (Cisco) Mireles, Nathaniel Brubaker, Patrick and Kathryn Kendall, Dr. Mery Kendall, and Brian (Beth) Kendall; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Beltz, Aidan and Evan Kendall, and Elijah Baker; and sisters, Stella Payne of Terre Haute and Gracie Jessee of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Peter Kendall; and great-grandchild, Emily Kendall.
Funeral service was Thursday, February 12 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation was Wednesday, February 11at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
