VELMA T. HAMMER, 85, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Heritage Park, Fort Wayne.
“Our pretty little momma left this world to spend her first Christmas in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.”
Born April 7, 1923, in St. Mary-of-the Woods, Indiana, she was a member of Avalon Missionary and Capri Christian Church, Isle of Capri, Florida.
Surviving are daughters, Roseanna Freeman, Evelyn Brooks and Cheryl (Don) McKay, all of Fort Wayne; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hammer, in 2005; and daughter, Mary Hamilton.
Memorial service was 6 p.m. Thursday at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
