ANNA BELLE KNAPP, 80

ANNA BELLE KNAPP, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at home, after courageously fighting ovarian cancer for over 12 years.

Anna Belle was born July 19, 1928, in Fort Wayne to Samuel E. and Camilla G. Henry, and married Robert E. Knapp on January l, 1946; he preceded her in death on February 4, 2001. She was a member of the Nine Mile United Methodist Church and active in her church as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a dental assistant for many years with the Isaac Knapp Dental Society and worked for Dr. Darrell Alexander.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kathryn (Jim) Roberts and Nila/Kozy (Scott) Hughes, both of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Robin Higgins, Chad Cearbaugh, Courtney (Kent) Wortman, Kim (Adam) Vachon, and Ashley (Jake) Gibson, Dianna (Greg) Ryan, Cassie Hughes and Kevin Hughes; and 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Awbrei, Connor, Aiden, Caitlyn, Braedyn, Maddison, Camdyn, Lennon, Jaxdyn, Jagger, and Ellingtyn, who will miss her dearly.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Lynn Henry.

“A big thank you goes to all the employees of Heartland Hospice, in particular her nurses Sheri, Kris, Georgia, Suzy and Megan, and Chaplain Robin who helped us through this time.”

Funeral service was Tuesday, November 4, at Nine Mile United Methodist Church, 6303 Winters Road, Fort Wayne. Calling was also Monday, November 3, at the church.

Arrangements by Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Maplelawn Nine Mile Cemetery.
