VIOLET S. “VI” FIRKS, 83, a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker, member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and American Legion 241 Auxilary.
She is survived by children, Diane Martz, Richard A. “Tony” Firks, Michael W. (Gail) Firks and Karen L. (Steve) Eshcoff, all of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald Holocher of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F., in 1990; and three brothers.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, August 6, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, The Rev. James F. Seculoff officiating. Calling was Tuesday, August 5, at Tom Mungovan Funeral Home, 2221 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, with Rosary. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
