HONORING THE MEMORY OF KAREN (MERKEY) BAKER
RELAY FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER
For the past 12 years, Bonnie has been greatly involved in the RELAY FOR LIFE event. Among other roles, Bonnie has been a Survivor Coordinator and Spirit Award Recipient. This year, Bonnie has invited Rosalie (Good) Waldrop to walk with her in the lap for Cancer Survivors.
In addition, Rosalie is assisting with fundraising efforts in honor of their mutual dear friend Karen who recently passed away with cancer. Karen was a wonderful person, mother, friend and community worker. Her adult life was devoted to her husband and four sons and her community work in Lynchburg, VA. Karen’s license plate read “5-GUYS” representing her husband and four sons.
Because Bonnie and Rosalie both know first-hand the seriousness of a cancer diagnosis and because they want to honor the wonderful memory of Karen, they are asking for your generous support in the efforts to “KNOCK OUT CANCER” with your contribution to the American Cancer Society.
