HISTORY CENTER HOSTS TRAVELING EXHIBIT, FACES OF LINCOLN

A reminder to fans of Abraham Lincoln—be sure to visit the History Center by May 16th to view the traveling exhibit, Faces of Lincoln, Part I. This exhibit demonstrates how photography helped define President Lincoln’s legacy.

The Faces of Lincoln: Lincoln and Indiana exhibitions from the Indiana Historical Society showcase items from the society’s extensive Lincoln collections. These traveling exhibitions feature illustrations, maps, manuscripts, photographs, sheet music and poetry, all of which relate to Lincoln’s time as a Hoosier. The exhibits will be featured at the History Center, 302 E. Berry Street, in a three-phased presentation during the national celebration of Lincoln’s birth (February 1809). The first exhibition runs April 7 through May 16, 2008, the second is scheduled for September 29 through November 7, 2008, and the third is slated for early spring 2009.

The History Center is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and first Sunday, 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors and students. Children under 5 and History Center members are admitted free.
