THE WORLD VS. EASTER
The world outside, it tries to claim
That Easter is not true,
But I BELIEVE with all my heart
That Jesus rose-do YOU?
This evil world would have me think
That cross on Calvary’s hill
Was just a page in history-
I KNOW it was God’s will.
On every side, I’m being told
My life depends on me,
But I’m CONVINCED that only as
I live in Christ I’m free!
And while the world promotes as fact
That here on earth’s my end
I CANNOT DOUBT the saving love
Of my victorious Friend.
The world, it may not recognize
Why Jesus’ blood was spilt
But I THANK God He chose His Son
To rid me this of guilt.
The world, it cannot understand
What joy this message brings,
That Jesus rose, that Jesus lives-
I DO, and my heart sings!
Yes, I BELIEVE in Easter Day
And I KNOW that I shall stand
Because of it, with Him one day
In Heaven, on His right hand.
That Jesus conquered sin and death
To make our Easter true
Can fill the heart with precious peace,
I HAVE that peace, do you?
