JOHN THOMAS MELTON, 55
JOHN THOMAS MELTON, 55, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at his Lake Tenkiller residence in Tahlequah, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Charles and June Shroyer Melton.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Barnes Melton; son, Ian of Dallas, Texas; mother, June Melton; sister, Margaret Watrous; and brother, Larry, all of Fort Wayne; Tom had a special friendship with his cousin, Jack Waters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, in 1992. A drummer, Tom had toured with several bands. A Vietnam Navy veteran, Tom enjoyed Lake Tenkiller, where his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Services were held in Tahlequah.
