HARRIET MAGDALENE OYER SIEVERS, 88

HARRIET MAGDALENE OYER SIEVERS, 88, passed away at Hospice Home on Thursday February 28, 2008. She was born in Paulding County, Ohio, to Noah and Emma (Bertsche) Oyer on August 26, 1919. Harriet graduated from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She met a young announcer named Bob Sievers at the Gospel Temple, and they were married in Liberty, Indiana, on December 27, 1941. She worked as the office manager and surgical nurse for Dr. John Gould, for 25 years. She was a member of the former Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, the National Guild of Decoupeurs, and the Lutheran School of Nursing Alumni Association. She was a gourmet cook, an avid reader, a lover of nature, and a talented artist.

She always made life beautiful and special for her family.

Survivors include her brother, Dr. Calvin Oyer of Providence, R.I.; daughters, Carolyn (Malcolm) Davis of Wautoma, Wisconsin, and Cynthia (Greg) Fett of Toledo, Ohio; granddaughters, Dana Schoof, Jennifer Fett, Lisa Fett, and Lindsay (Jason) Miller; great-grandchildren, Devin and Jade Miller; and her dog, Mamie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.

Funeral service was Monday, March 3, 2008 at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with calling two hours prior. Rev. Julia A. Goodall officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
