R. WAYNE JONES
R. WAYNE JONES, went to Heaven, as Dr. Stenson would say, on January 17, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He had become loved and admired by those who cared for him at the University of Chicago Hospital. His fighting spirit was always making itself known by the wink of his eye in the most arduous of situations. To his family, he was courageous and loved. He enjoyed golf and loved his golfing companions. He worked in the sheet metal trade for 48 years. He belonged to Sheet Metal Local 20.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, “Judygirl”; three children, Randall (Kathy), Eric (Lori) and Kirsten (Mike) Ormsby; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Anthony, Logan, Olivia, Evan, Ian and Aiden; his father, Clifford Jones; and brothers, Robert (Melanie) and Jim (Peggy).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel C. Jones.
Funeral service was Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling was Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
