WAYNEDALE ELEMENTARY CHANGES DRESS CODE
Waynedale Elementary is enforcing a new dress code that will consist of skirts, jumpers, skorts, shorts, long pants and collared shirts. The students may chose from white, light blue, red or navy polo shirts.
Waynedale Elementary dress policies will eliminate children wearing baggy and torn pants low-cut and inappropriate tops to class.
The staff of the school initiated the idea of a dress code and then began discussing the idea with the parents and students in order to make the best decision possible. The school believes that this change will help give students more team spirit and help them take pride in what they are wearing. And take school more seriously.
The new dress code rules are in full swing at the school and all the students have to be in proper attire before class. None of the students will be sent home for not wearing uniforms. Waynedale received a donation from some local people to help the children who can’t afford uniforms and also the principle, Kent Martz, took time this summer to go shopping for the students appropriate attire.
Waynedale will also be incorporating, along with the dress code, a six-pillar character development and discipline program. Those things are: trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
With school already in session, the children have excellent attire and attitudes to go with their new rules for their school. They are all looking very sharp in their new clothes.
