CANCER BENEFIT FOR MINNIE
Helping others is usually a two-fold benefit. The one receiving the assistance is ever so grateful. The one giving the help obtains a sense of satisfaction knowing you made a difference. Now the community of Waynedale has the opportunity to help one of our own.
A group of Minnie’s (Minnie’s Diner) friends are sponsoring a cancer benefit in her honor on Sunday, July 16, 2006. The benefit has something for everyone including food, fun, and live entertainment. All events will be held at AMVETS#33 located at 6620 Koester Road.
The day begins with a Poker Run. Registration is from 11:00 a.m. until noon. The cost is $10.00 per rider that includes a chicken dinner. The first bike goes out at noon, and the last bike in at 3:30 p.m. Plaques will be awarded to oldest, youngest, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place riders.
At noon, chicken dinners will be available for $6 each. Join Pop- N- Fresh & Friends from 1-4 p.m. for some rocking live entertainment. There will be a bake sale, tip boards, and 50/50 drawings.
An auction will begin at 4:00 p.m. The list of items up for bid include a 10 ft. boat, mini-chopper motorcycle, two one-night romance packages, air conditioners, a 26-inch girls bike, tanning sessions, car washes, a NASCAR jacket, tools, Baer Field Race tickets and much, much, more.
