ALVERA L. DEKKER, 79
ALVERA L. DEKKER, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at her residence. Born December 12, 1927, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late George Aikins and Belle (Jackson). She was a waitress at Carriage Inn Restaurant for 31 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Larry A. Brown of Huntington, Terry L. Brown of Indianapolis and Steven L. Brown of San Diego, California; brother, Loris Aikins of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Edith Mosher and Martha Wright, both of Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dekker; and brother, Gale Aikins.
Funeral service was Wednesday, May 31, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Pastor Charles Lyman officiating. Graveside service was at Marion National Cemetery, Marion.
Preferred memorials to First Baptist Church or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
