FRANCES O. ASHTON, 92
FRANCES O. ASHTON, 92, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006, at Renaissance Village, with her loved ones at her side. Born in Steams, Kentucky, in 1914, she was a member of Monson Chapel United Methodist Church. Moving to Indiana in 1921, she lived the remainder of her life in Harlan and Fort Wayne. She married George Ashton on January 1, 1933. They were married 65 years before his death, in 1998.
Surviving are a daughters, Doreen (Jim) Radabaugh of Fort Wayne, whom she lived with for several years, and Sharon (Bob) Shuler of New Haven; sons, Vaughn (Jan) Ashton of Fort Wayne and Earl Ashton of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Hitzeman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Lewis, in 1996; and sister, Imogene Derck.
Service was Friday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road.
