EDWARD F. COOPER, 81

EDWARD F. COOPER, 81, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Pekin, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1948, where he had been awarded numerous victory medals. He was employed at Slater Steel (formerly Joslyn Steel) for 32 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Mespell of Phoeniz, Arizona; sons, Mike Cooper, Eddie (Angel) Cooper, Duane Mespell and Louie (Maureen) Mespell, all of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren all of Fort Wayne; and two great-grandchildren, both of Fort Wayne.

Also surviving are George (Johanna) Serres, Doris and Inez Loop; cousin, Jonesy Jones; and nephew, Dewey Miller.

He was preceded in death by wife, Nellie; daughters, Kimberly and Darlene; and son, Terry.

Service was noon Saturday, February 25 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
