DONALD R. DIRR, 72
DONALD R. DIRR, 72, of Churubusco, died Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital. Born October 11, 1933, in Hamilton Lake, Indiana, he was employed at Plibrico for 45 years as a Brick Mason, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Nine Mile Methodist Church and IUBAC (International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen). He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bremerton Heavy Cruiser CA130 and was a member of the U.S. Navy Cruiser Sailor’s Association.
“He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who enjoyed many hobbies and loved college basketball. He will be loved and missed by many.”
Survived by his wife, Annabelle L. (Hughes) Dirr; sons, W. Brian (Sheryl) Dirr and Brett E. (Renee) Dirr; sisters, Laverne Tubbs, Mabel Musall, Clara Jennings and Betty Lewis; and grandchildren, Hayden and Avery Dirr.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ora, Melvin, Sylvester, Ray and Kenneth; and sisters, Ruth Dirr and Opal Kunsman.
Service was Wednesday, March 1, at Nine Mile Methodist Church, 6303 Winters Road. Calling was Tuesday, February 28, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral
Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
