JOHN E. “JACK” VAIL, 84
JOHN E. “JACK” VAIL, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, January 30, 2006, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born July 23, 1921, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Owen and Josephine (Cox) Vail. He was owner of Vail Insurance Agency for 45 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, American Legion Post 296 and served in the Army.
Survived by his daughter, Marcia (Ron) Wedler of Woodburn; son, Jim (Patty) Vail of Fremont; grandchildren, Justin, Joe, Brian and Angela; sisters, Jane Fruechtenicht of Indianapolis and Joan Heinzleman of Florida; and companion, Virginia Pynchon of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1998; son, Daniel, in 1991; brother, Pat Vail; and sisters, Jerry Wahl and Marion Kramer.
Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, February 3, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with calling one hour prior to Mass. Calling was also Thursday, February 2, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at Catholic Cemetery.
