ELFERT M. “AL” KIEFER, 79
ELFERT M. “AL” KIEFER, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, February 9, 2006, at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital, Bay Pines, Florida. Born October 2, 1926, in Ossian, he was a retired firefighter for the city of Fort Wayne. He was a member of International Fire Fighters Organization, American Legion, V.F.W. and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Survived by daughter, Sandra (Jim) Sechler of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Shaun (Ellen) Sechler of Fort Wayne and Melissa (Eric) Amstutz of New Haven; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Waunita B. Kiefer, in 2003.
Service was Thursday, February 16, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
