PAULA YEAGER, 50

PAULA YEAGER, 50, died November 9, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Rugby, North Dakota on July 10, 1955. She was Executive Director of Indiana Wildlife Federation.

Her connection with conservation began as a child in North Dakota, and was heightened by her friendship with John Denver who inspired her to act on her convictions.

Paula resided in the Midwest her entire life, living in North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and the past nine years in Noblesville, Indiana. Paula was born in Rugby, N.D. on July 10, 1955. She was married for 29 years to John Yeager.

Paula and John have two children, Cory, 24 and Stephanie, 21.

Paula graduated from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska, as well as, the University of Nebraska Business College. She was hired as Education Director in the summer of 1999, and showed a strong understanding of the conservation ethic, as well as the politics of conservation. Besides twice receiving the Presidents Award from IWF, Paula was named Conservationist of the Year in 2001 by the DNR. This past summer NWF recognized Paula with their Conservation Service Citation.

Funeral arrangements were made by her husband, John Yeager, and two children Stephanie and Corey at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, Indiana.

Paula’s husband John has asked that memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be sent to the Indiana Wildlife Federation in Paula’s name. (Indiana Wildlife Federation, 950 N Rangeline, Suite A, Carmel, IN 46032)
