RAYMOND F. MATTES, 70
RAYMOND F. MATTES, 70, of Yoder, died Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born August 18, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he was a meter man for American Electric Power for 42 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, St. Vincent dePaul Society, St. Therese RCIA and Extra Ordinary Minister of the Euchrist.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita A. Mattes of Yoder; daughter, Rebecca (Glenn) Sebald of Anchorage, Alaska; sons, Christopher (Sarah) Mattes of Fort Wayne, Patrick (Ingrid) Mattes of Yoder and Phillip A. (Doreen) Mattes of Maumelle, Arkansas; sisters, Luella Naftzger of Lima, Ohio, Edna DeKoninck of Columbia City and Marilyn (Ray) Sorg of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Joshua, Stephanie, Christina, Brittany and Theresa Mattes, all of Yoder, Amber Mattes of Lafayette, Gwendolyn Shumate of Jacksonville, N.C. Phillip W. Mattes of Fort Wayne and Brandon Mattes of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Mattes.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, October 5, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road. Visitation was at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road. Burial in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
