LADY COUGARS GET 3 VOLLEYBALL COMMITMENTS FOR 2006-07

‑‑‑ University of Saint Francis volleyball coach Hector Kiely is pleased to announce he has received commitments from three high schools senior volleyball recruits from northern Indiana.

‑‑‑ Michelle Rumschlag (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Luers H.S.), Jessica Smith (Summitville, IN / Madison-Grant H.S.) and Tiphanee Vegh (Mishawaka, IN / Mishawaka H.S.) have each signed a letter-of-intent to attend USF starting in the fall of the 2006-07 school year to continue their education and play volleyball for the Lady Cougars.

‑‑‑ “I am very pleased that these three fine players have made USF their college choice,” Kiely said. “All three have the skills, the talent, the attitude, to contribute to our success right away. All three are looking forward to their senior season in high school and I’ll enjoy checking on their progress this year.”

‑‑‑ Michelle, a 6-foot-1 middle, is the daughter of Ron and Alice Rumschlag, who has been a two-year starter for the Knights and has earned three letters at Bishop Luers. She was All-Summit Athletic Conference honorable mention as a junior.

‑‑ Smith, the daughter of Stephanie Rowland and Jay Dee Smith, is a 6-1 setter who is a 3-year starter and 3-time letter-winner for the Argylls. She was an All-CIC honorable mention selection as a junior.

‑‑ Vegh, the daughter of Rudy and Sherri Vegh, is a 5-8 outside hitter/defensive specialist at Mishawaka. She has earned three varsity letters.

‑‑ The Lady Cougars open their season on August 30 at the University of Indianapolis at 7 p.m. USF’s first home match is also its Mid-Central Conference opener on September 7 at 7:30 p.m. against Indiana Wesleyan University.
