EDNA PENNYCOFF-IMEL, 80

EDNA PENNYCOFF-IMEL, 80, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at her residence. Born April 9, 1925, in Poe, she was the daughter of Charles J. Churchward and Edna (Herber). She was a devoted wife, loving sister, mother and grandmother. She married Ed Imel on November 13, 1976. She was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and former owner of Pennycoff Liquor Stores. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #296.

Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Ed Imel of Fort Wayne; one son, Robert (Mindy) Pennycoff of Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Tom Imel and Ilene Feldhiser of Alpena, Michigan and Larry (Mary) Imel of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Chloe Ann (Don) Christianer of Decatur; four brothers, Page Churchward of Fort Wayne, Eugene Churchward of New Haven, William (Virginia) Churchward of Fort Wayne and Paul (Carolyn) Churchward of Churubusco; three sisters, Rita Kendrick and Susan (Matthew) Vorich, both of Fort Wayne and Lorraine Hoss of Indianapolis; one grandson; 11 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grand-children; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by parents; first husband, William S. Pennycoff; two brothers, James and Wilbur Churchward; and one sister, Cecilia Churchward. Celebration of Life was Friday, May 20, at Waynedale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Becky Conelley officiating. Visitation was Thursday, May 19, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Home, 6810 Old Trail Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Arrangements by Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
