ST. JOSEPH-ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON STUDENT TIES FOR THIRD IN COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Olivia Lee, an eighth grade student at St. Joseph-St.Elizabeth School tied for third place in the Allen County Spelling Bee held on February 12, 2005.
Olivia competed with 85 other students from the county who likewise enjoy spelling and linguistics. According to Lee, “I am really glad for the chance to participate and experience what it is like to be in a spelling bee. I also met students from different schools in our area.”
Lee says staying calm throughout the competition helped her stay focused when it was her turn to spell, and she was also glad for the time she spent studying prior to the bee.
Olivia went out on the word, trefoil. Definition: any of several herbs related to the clovers and having 3-leaves with 3-leaflets.
St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth, Brooklyn Avenue, Fort Wayne is accredited by the North Central Association and serves grades K-8.
