Phillip and Loann (Hoeppner) Oberkiser of 4710 West Cedar Crest Circle, Fort Wayne will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 2, 2005 with a party given by their daughter Trudy Brunkhart and son Tim Oberkiser.

They met on a blind date. They were married March 26, 1955 at St. Paul United Methodist church. “We had a snowstorm with 6 or 7 inches of snow,” commented Loann.

Phil was in the Army with the 42nd Rainbow Division for 4 years during WWII. He also served in Japan for 1 year during the Korean War. They have attended 30 or more Rainbow reunions all over the United States.

Phil retired from Rea Magnet Wire after 28 years. Loann retired from Fort Wayne Country Club after 23 years.

Besides their daughter and son, they have 8 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

“I never thought we’d make it to fifty!” Loann said, as they prepared to leave.

“She never had it so good!” Phil said, as they walked out the door. Congratulations!
