Calvary United Methodist Church will be hosting the Bethune-Cookman College Inspirational Gospel Choir for a special concert on Saturday evening, February 26, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.‑ Bethune-Cookman is located in Daytona Beach, Florida and is one of the United Methodist’s historic Black Colleges.

This 30-member student choir arose out of a prayer meeting in 1966 and now travels throughout the United States during school vacation periods.

Among their accomplishments are performances:

• at the Fifty-Second Inaugural Prayer Service in Washington in 1993

• at the opening of the 25,000th McDonalds restaurant

• and several appearances at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

They present a program filled with a wide variety of musical styles: rock and jazzy gospel, contemporary and blues gospel, Negro spirituals, and accappella renditions. You will want to put this evening of great music on your calendar. Bethune-Cookman Choir will be at Calvary United Methodist Church, 6301 Winchester Road.
