HAZEL D. (JOHNSON) GALLIMORE, 95
HAZEL D. (JOHNSON) GALLIMORE, 95, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in Placitas, N.M. Born March 15, 1909, in Allen County, she was the daughter of Oscar and Bertha (Young) Johnson and was a lifelong Fort Wayne resident until moving to Placitas, in 2000, to be with her daughter.
She married Chester F. Gallimore on March 19, 1927, in Bluffton. She was a member of Grace St. John’s United Church of Christ, Grace St. John’s Choir and the Triple T group. She was formerly employed at General Electric Co. and also worked as a sales clerk at Hutner’s Paris, Wolf & Dessauer and Glenbrook Hallmark.
Survivors include her daughter, Lois (John) May of Placitas, N.M.; grandchildren, Kevin (Vera) May of San Diego, Calif. and Heather May of Eugene, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews including, Mabeline and Paul Poiry of Fort Wayne, Lela DeBeumont of Leo, Roger Nash of Fort Wayne and Nancy Johnson Schiable of Youngstown, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1989.
Funeral service was Tuesday, July 6, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road.
Burial at Uniontown Cemetery, Uniondale, Indiana.
