ELEANOR C. GIANNAKEFF, 89
ELEANOR C. GIANNAKEFF, 89, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at home. The Fort Wayne resident was born in Roanoke, May 31, 1914. Mrs. Giannakeff enjoyed cooking, gardening and dancing, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, the St. Nicholas Women’s Guild, American Legion Post #82 Ladies’ Auxiliary and also participated in social events at Post #296, member of the High Steppers Line Dancers and past president of the Elmhurst Home Economics Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Giannakeff, in 1993; daughter, Rena Ford, in 1988; grandson, Ross Thompson, in 1994; and brother, John Gilleff, in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Leon W. (Dianne) Giannakeff of Columbia City; daughter, Jeannette F. Thompson of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Mary Ellison and Sylvia Christon, both of Fort Wayne. Funeral Service was Saturday, May 29 at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave. Trisagion service was at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park
The preferred memorial is St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
