LUTHERAN PARK AND GARDENS GROUND BREAKING
The Lutheran Foundation hosted a ground breaking ceremony and unveiling of the design for Lutheran Park and Gardens on Friday, April 30, 2004. The park will be located at 3024 Fairfield Avenue on more than 12 acres. Construction began May 3.
The park is designed as a “passive park”. There will be walking paths, places for meditation, a water feature, beautiful gardens, some wide-open green spaces and much more. Completion of the $800,000 park is scheduled September 2004.
The LandPlan Group, LLC has been engaged for design services for the development of this park and also for oversight of the construction phase. Brooks Construction is the general contractor.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Lutheran Foundation, we are very pleased to formally announce plans for Lutheran Park and Gardens,” said Marcia Haaff, executive director of The Lutheran Foundation. “A subcommittee of our Board has worked diligently for several years putting together the plans for the development of a passive park. The surrounding neighborhood associations have been helpful and supportive to us by giving input on what they would like to see done in their backyards. We listened to you, our neighbors, and we proudly present to you, plans for Lutheran Park and Gardens.”
