Wayne Drama selects Bye Bye Birdie
Wayne High School Theater will be presenting “Bye Bye Birdie” on Friday, April 23rd, and Saturday, April 24th, at 7:00pm in the Wayne High School Auditorium. In this entertaining “blast from the past” show, an Elvis-era pop star is being drafted into the army. As a final publicity stunt, his manager arranges for him to kiss a teenage fan on the Ed Sullivan television show. The story takes a twist, however, when the fan turns out to have a new (and very jealous) boyfriend. The manager, meanwhile has all kinds of problems: his bossy mama tags along, his secretary and girlfriend of eight years is threatening to leave him, and his star isn’t living up to his carefully constructed all-American boy image.
“Bye Bye Birdie,” starring Kenny Green, Kendra Leonard, Christine McMillan, Nick Alvarez, and many more talented Wayne High School students is a family-friendly show that all will enjoy. The cost is $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. You may reserve tickets in advance by calling Mrs. Olson at Wayne High School. Tickets will also be sold at the door, but seating is limited. We hope to see you there.
