LESLIE L. SPECK, 88
LESLIE L. SPECK, 88, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital. Born March 16, 1916, in Fort Wayne, he was a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran of World War II, having served in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Speck was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #47, and was a volunteer driver for Workers for the Blind, for many years. He retired from (Eskay) Medal Gold Dairy, in 1977. “He enjoyed his grandchildren immensely and always loved to go dancing with his beloved wife of 57 years, Marion, who preceded him in death, December 19, 2003.”
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Steve Stiffler of Fort Wayne; grandson, Ryan Stiffler of Huntertown; granddaughter, Lindsay Stiffler of Fort Myers, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was Tuesday at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling was also at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
