MOUNT CALVARY OPENS DOORS TO WALKERS
Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive in Fort Wayne, is once again opening its doors to those who want to walk in a quiet and enclosed area, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, beginning at 8am. The activity is held in the Family Life Center, which is designed to help families with physical and spiritual needs.
Mrs. Betty Rekeweg, parish nurse at Mount Calvary runs the program, so members and non-members alike can get the exercise they need to maintain good health. Mrs. Rekeweg checks the walker’s blood pressure before or after the walk, if desired by the walker. A five-minute devotion is provided prior to the start of the program after which a person can walk as long as they desire.
At the present time attendance averages between 30 and 35 walkers each day.
This activity is being offered as a part of Mount Calvary’s on-going effort to meet the needs of the community. Everyone is welcome participate.
