DALE E. GENTH, 85

DALE E. GENTH, 85, of Yoder, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at Markle Healthcare Center. Born February 22, 1918, in Allen County, he was a farmer and dealer of Pfister Seed Corn for over 50 years. Mr. Genth was a member of Farm Bureau for 61 years, past president of Pleasant Twp. Farm Bureau, past president of Pleasant Twp. Advisory Board, 40-year 4-H Leader of the Pleasant Twp. Pleasant Progressive 4-H Club, organized Allen County 4-H Tractor Maintenance Club. He served as Grand Marshall for the Allen County 4-H Fair in 1982, and was a member of Fairview Church of God, where he had served as Deacon and Trustee. An avid I.U. basketball fan, he was a former registered Palomino horse breeder and a lifelong raccoon hunter. “He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He cared for others more than himself.”

Surviving are his wife Erma Genth of Yoder; son Dean A. Genth of Mason City, Iowa; daughter Linda Schuller of Yoder; grandchildren Deborah Baker, Lynne Schuller, both of Yoder, Kayla Russell of Eaton, Ohio, Sarah Clippinger of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clayton Genth of Eaton, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren.

Service was Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Fairview Church of God, 5511 West Yoder Road at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial was at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
