LOCAL STUDENT EXPLORES U.S. JUSTICE SYSTEM
Miss Amanda Mitchell of Sandpoint Road has recently been selected to participate in the National Youth Leadership forum on Law (NYLF/LAW). Amanda will be attending the forum from Tuesday, October 7th to Sunday, October 12, 2003 in Washington, D.C. Having demonstrated academic achievement and an interest in law and justice, Mitchell will join more than 350 outstanding high school juniors and seniors from across the United States at the Forum on Law.
The curriculum for NYLF/LAW is based on actual events, which allows its participants to learn from the examples set by attorneys or law and court officials from municipal court to the U.S. Supreme Court. The process encourages participants to develop perspective and resolve. Throughout the forum, students will examine how court cases often change the legal system.
Amanda was nominated by Ms. Beth Franklin, Speech Debate Coach from Southside High School.
