R. Wayne Stinson, 69, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a Sales Rep. With Phelps-Dodge Corp for 30 years and was a US Army Veteran. Survivors include son, Jeff (Sue) Stinson of Cary, Illinois; daughter Julie (Jim) Gray of Fox River Grove, Illinois; brother Rex (Jo) Stinson, of Fort Wayne; sister Laticia (Warren) Smith of Crofton, Maryland; companion Nancy Mitchell of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Katie & Max Stinson, Cavan, Kyle, & Chad Gray; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Wilson Stinson. Services were held Saturday September 6, 2003 with Rev. John Newberg officiating at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Military Graveside Rites by American Legion Post #296. Memorials to South Side High School Alumni Association or American Cancer Society Greater Fort Wayne.
