SOUTHSIDE OPTIMISTS GIVE CITIZENSHIP AWARDS
The Southside Optimists International recognized the good citizenship of six students in the 6th, 7th, & 8th grades at Ben Geyer Middle School.
Administrative assistant Mary Ann Horn spoke to the Southside Optimists Club a year ago and impressed the group as to the good things that were going on at Ben Geyer School. Since “Friends of Youth” are the Optimists main reason to exist, they ask Mary Ann if they could be a part of the good things happening at Geyer. With Mary Ann’s assistance, the Optimists decided to give $100 savings bonds to each of the six students chosen for the citizenship award. The Optimists intend to continue this in the future.
