The AARP Tax-Aide Program provides free tax assistance in the preparation of the federal and state income tax returns to middle and low-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older. With the library construction projects in process we have been forced to move the Main Library site to Little Turtle and the Shawnee site to Waynedale Library. We urge those seeking tax assistance to bring their last years tax return, their county real estate tax paid receipts and all 2002 Tax forms (W-2, 1099R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, W2G, SSA-1099, etc.) For further information, please contact Virgil Gerard at 747-3256 or Bill Knorr at 486-5654.
Waynedale Library – Tuesdays 12noon to 4pm from February 4 to April 15.

AARP Tax-Aide Program, the country’s largest volunteer tax preparation service, needs your help. In 2002, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers helped 1.7 million middle and low income tax taxpayers with their federal and state tax returns. We expect an even busier tax season in 2003 so we need additional volunteers. After training, counselors are assigned to sites in Allen County such as the Waynedale Library. The volunteers are asked to work a minimum of 40 hours during the tax season, February 3 to April 15, 2003. For volunteer information, please call Virgil Guegard at 260-747-3256 or Bill Knoor at 260-484-5654.
