LELA MABLE JACKSON, 105
Lela Mable Jackson, 105, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at her Fort Wayne residence. A native of Wells County, she was a homemaker and a member of Zanesville Church of God, a 50-year member of the Paradise Lodge of the Rebecca Lodge of Bluffton, a member of Home Economics Club of Lafayette Central, a Women’s Leader of Lafayette Township Farm Bureau, a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion since WWII, and a member of Roanoke American Legion Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Jackson who passed away in 1969 and by sons Donald and Kenneth Jackson. She was to be honored in May of 2004 at East Union’s Alumni meeting as a member of the 90th Year Anniversary Class.
She is survived by daughter Evalyn Johnson, Fort Wayne; son Allen Jackson, Cascade Locks, Oregon, 2 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, March 3, 2003 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals with burial in Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville, Indiana. Memorials to Zanesville Church of God.
