THE VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP
To The Volunteers
We here at the Wayne Township Trustee’s office have always looked for ways to reduce the burden of the taxpayer while still providing for the needs of the less fortunate in our community. This means not only looking for new avenues and funding sources but also recognizing and developing the resources that already exist. The faith-based community has always had a strong influence in our community. With dwindling government budgets volunteers are a crucial part of our war on poverty. Many government agencies not only recognize, but also depend on these agencies and volunteers to catch those who are falling through the cracks. Faith-based mentoring programs offer structure by providing positive alternatives to families struggling toward self-sufficiency. These volunteers offer their time and Christian commitment and no amount of government assistance can replace that.
I truly admire and respect all those who share their humanity for the benefit of others.
It is in the spirit of their actions that government programs were born. I will continue to provide services to those in need. I will also continue to seek new and innovative funding sources to help those unable to help themselves. I sincerely appreciate the faith-based volunteers, your hard work and dedication is an inspiration to all who work with citizens in crisis.
