RALPH C. WINANS, 87
Ralph C. Winans, 87, died Saturday, January 29, 2003 at Hospice Home of N.E. Indiana. He was a Tool Designer for Dana Corporation and owner of R & I Engineering. He retired in 2000 after 40 years. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven, Indiana, a US Navy Korean War Veteran (Sea Bees (CB) Construction Battalion), and a member of American Legion Post #296. “He was a generous husband, Father and Grandfather, who enjoyed a quiet simple life.” He was preceded in death by brother Clyde Winans who passed away in 1972 and by his 1st wife Irene who passed away in 1997.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Winans, New Haven, Indiana; daughters Lois Larson, Portland, Oregon; Kay Heck, New Haven, Indiana; Susanne Moorman Rowe, Fort Wayne; Cindy Larson, Fort Wayne; stepson Doug Black, New Haven; stepdaughter Tammy Carr, Fort Wayne; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and 5 step Grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green Street, New Haven, IN with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery; Rev. David O. Stecker officiated. Preferred Memorials to Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven or New Haven United Methodist Church, New Haven, Indiana.
