WILLIAM J. SORG, SR., 88

William J. Sorg, Sr., 88, died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at Christian Care Retirement Center in Bluffton, Indiana. A native of Yoder, Indiana, he retired as past President of Ossian Packing Company and former Chairman of the Board of Ossian State Bank. He was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and St. Aloysius Catholic Church Holy Name Society. His hobby was fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife Garnett Sorg who passed away November 22, 1994 and by 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a daughter Rosemary C. Sorg.

He is survived by sons William J. Sorg, Jr., Yoder, Indiana; Peter C. Sorg, Fort Wayne; daughters Ruth Ellen Bowman, Yoder; Anna Catherine (Katie) Smith, Yoder; Cheryl L. White, Yoder; brother Thomas H. Sorg, Fort Wayne; sister Pauline Giant, New Haven; 20 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with burial in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials to St. Aloysius Catholic Church building fund and masses. Information furnished by Elzey Patterson, Rodak Home for Funerals.
