GLEN HENRY HEMMELGARN, 92

Glen Henry Hemmelgarn, 92, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at Americare Nursing Center of Goshen. A native of Saint Henry, Ohio, he was a Stillman for Falstaff Brewery for 40 years. He retired in 1975. He was a Navy veteran and also served in the Navy Reserves. He was preceded in death by his father Martin Hemmeggarn, his mother Ida (Huff) Hemmelgarn, 7 sisters, 1 brother, daughter Patricia Wertman, and his first wife Thelma who passed away in 1985. He was a member of North Webster American Legion Post 253, St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Syracuse, Indiana, and attended St. Patrick’s School in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and carpentry work.

He is survived by his wife Hazel Hemmelgarn, Millersburg, Indiana; daughters Joan Allman, St. Augustine, Florida; Shirley Romano, Lakeland, Florida; son Glen M. Hemmelgarn, Fort Wayne; stepdaughters Sandi Barnhart, Goshen; Vicki Holdenman, Middlebury; Elizabeth Ann Rodman, Goshen; stepson Phillip Larimer, South Whitley; 17 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, July 8, 2002 at St. Jude Catholic Church with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Most Precious Blood Catholic Church rebuilding fund or St. Jude Catholic Church. Information by C. M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home.
